Using CCH® IntelliConnect Browser Search

CCH IntelliConnect Browser Search provides up-to-date tax and accounting information with powerful search functionality. The Search IntelliConnect field allows you to access IntelliConnect content from Google® Search results. Depending on the CCH Axcess™ product, Search IntelliConnect is either automatically added or can be added to your Quick Access Toolbar.

You must first install the CCH IntelliConnect Browser Search software. Click in the Quick Access Toolbar search field and click Learn more for download and install information.

After installing the software, do the following to search IntelliConnect articles using your Quick Access Toolbar:

  1. Enter your search term in the Search IntelliConnect field and press Enter. A new tab of your default browser opens the Google® search results.
  2. Click Display IntelliConnect search results directly above the results to activate the feature. Your query results from IntelliConnect appear in-line with the Google® search results.
  3. Note: This feature will remain active until you close and reopen your browser.

  4. Select the IntelliConnect content to access the detailed information in the IntelliConnect window.

IntelliConnect research documents are organized in a Tree View or Library View and include tools to help you locate related news, full-text source documents, and analysis.

You can do the following in the IntelliConnect window to locate additional information:

  • Browse. Browse for content directly from the Browse menu, which is an organized list of all of the content to which you subscribe. The Browse menu can be displayed in Tree or Library view.
  • Search. Use the Search bar to search the entire library, or you can target specific content areas for your search by selecting them from the Browse menu. You can narrow your results by doing a search within a search.
  • Filter. Use filters to narrow your search results to meaningful areas of interest. For example, you can narrow your search results by selecting a specific document type, a tax type, a menu level on a library, and a specific jurisdiction.
  • Link. Link to tax news and highlights. The My Favorites feature allows you to save IntelliConnect documents as shortcuts. Shortcuts can be saved as document links within IntelliConnect or as external links in other applications.
