Managing Routing Settings for a Locally Installed Routing Service

If you use CCH® ProSystem fx® Scan with Document, you can use the Routings Settings window to configure the Closedoptions for uploading scanned files to Document.

The options you can configure are as follows:

  • Folders that Document monitors for PDFs. By default, Document monitors the Pfx Document\Scan folder for newly added PDFs. In the Routing Setting window, you can configure Document to monitor additional folders as well.
  • How to handle PDFs that do not include routing slips. If a PDF in a monitored folder includes a routing slipClosed A cover sheet used when scanning documents with Scan. The routing slip conveys information to the system about the document's metadata and the folder where the file should be placed in Document when the scan is complete., the file is uploaded to the Document folder indicated on the routing slip. You can choose whether files that do not have routing slips should be uploaded to Document as well.
  • How often Document checks for new files. Document looks to the selected folder on a regular basis to see if there are additional PDFs ready for upload.
  • Amount of time that elapses before a newly loaded file is uploaded to Document. You can set the routing queue to wait for a specified amount of time before uploading the file. This can give you a short grace period if, for example, the wrong version of a file is added to the routing queue. You can replace the file before Document retrieves the file.

Use the procedure below to change the routing settings for your firm:
