Subscribing to a Folder Template

The process of subscribing an entity to a folder templateClosed A predefined folder structure that you can use to organize files for an entity. is the same for all entity types. However, the location where you subscribe to the template varies by entity type.

To subscribe an entity to a folder template, do the following:

  1. Go to the folder templates subscription window for the entity type.
    • ClosedFirm
      1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Settings and defaults under Firm.
      2. Click Document > Folder Template > Assign to Firm on the navigation panel.
    • ClosedOffice
      1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Settings and defaults under Firm.
      2. Click Organizational Units on the navigation panel.
      3. On the Offices tab, select the office to configure options for, and then click Open.
      4. Click Document on the navigation panel.
    • ClosedBusiness unit
      1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Settings and defaults under Firm.
      2. Click Organizational Units on the navigation panel.
      3. On the Business Units tab, select the business unit to configure options for, and then click Open.
      4. Click Document on the navigation panel.
    • ClosedNew client entities
      1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Client Manager under Clients.
      2. Select New > Client in the Create group on the Home tab.
      3. Select a client template to use for the new client, and then click Continue.
      4. Enter required profile information for the new client.
      5. Click Document on the navigation panel.
    • ClosedExisting client entities
      1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Client Manager under Clients.
      2. Double-click the client name in the client list to open the Client Profile window.
      3. Click Document on the navigation panel.
    • ClosedNew non-client entities
      1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Non-client Manager under Clients.
      2. Click New > Non-client in the Create group on the Home tab.
      3. Enter the required profile information for the new non-client entity.
      4. Click Document on the navigation panel.
    • ClosedExisting non-client entities
      1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Non-client Manager under Clients.
      2. Double-click the non-client entity name in the list to open the entity's profile.
      3. Click Document on the navigation panel.
  2. In the Managed folder templates section, select the template you want to subscribe to for this entity.
  3. Note: The default folder template that is set up for the entity type displays at the top of the list of templates.

  4. If needed, Closedcreate or edit custom folders set up for the entity in the Folder preview section.
  5. In the Extended folder templates section, select the template you want to subscribe this entity to.
  6. Note: The default folder template that is set up for the entity type displays at the top of the list of templates.

  7. If needed, Closedcreate or edit custom folders set up for the entity in the Extended folder preview sections.
  8. Click OK.
