Printing Reports

There are two options for printing reports. The Quick Print option sends a report to your printer according to your Print Options settings. You can also print from the Print Preview window, which allows you to select a print device or choose other options and preferences not set up in Print Options.

Using Quick Print

Before you use Quick Print the first time, set up your print options for the report. See Setting Your Print Options for information.

To print a report using Quick Print, do the following:

  1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Reports Manager under Reports.
  2. Click My Reports, Shared Library, or Firm Library and select a group on the navigation panel.
  3. Select a report in the grid.
  4. Click Quick Print in the Run group on the Home tab or select Print > Quick Print from the Application menu. The report prints according to your settings in Print Options.

Printing from Print Preview

To print a report from the Print Preview window, do the following:

  1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Reports Manager under Reports.
  2. Click My Reports, Shared Library, or Firm Library on the navigation panel and select a group.
  3. Select a report in the grid.
  4. Click Print Preview in the Run group on the Home tab or select Print > Print Preview from the Application menu.
  5. Click on the Print Preview toolbar to display the Print window.
  6. Select your print options and click Print.

Using Page Setup Settings

You can click on the Print Preview toolbar to change the paper size, orientation, and margin sizes; however, setting the left and right margins for tables that exceed the standard width using the Page Setup window may cause data to truncate along the right margin. For example, for the landscape paper width of 11 inches with left and right margin sizes of .25 inches each, the available table size is 10.5 inches. Setting the left and right margins to greater than .25 inches each in this example exceeds the available table size.

If report data requires a table width to exceed the standard available page size, use the Print Options window to set the margin sizes. Using the Print Options window, Reports Manager will automatically reduce the table layout, header, and footer to the available page size. See Setting Report Page, Print, and Export Defaults for more information.

Tips:

  • Margins set using Print Options are not applied in the default Print Preview window. Margin settings are applied when reports are printed or when viewed in Print Layout mode. Click on the Print Preview toolbar to preview your margin settings.
  • Print a selected page or page range from the Print Layout mode. The page number displayed in the Print Preview window may not be the same as in Print Layout mode.
