Creating Organizers from My1040Data Toolkit

Your firm can create electronic Organizers for Pro Forma clients with My1040Data Toolkit. The Process tab in My1040Data Toolkit allows you to create Organizers that can be customized for a particular client or a group of clients. Your firm's clients can then access and process the Organizers on the customer-facing My1040Data web application.

The following criteria must be met:

  • Tax is licensed and installed.
  • You are granted the functional right to access My1040Data Toolkit.
  • Note: The functional right to configure My1040Data Toolkit firm settings must be granted to specify firm information, such as your company's name, address, and logo.

To create Organizers from My1040Data Toolkit, do the following:

  1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click My1040Data Toolkit under Tax.
  2. Select Process > Create Organizers for Pro Forma Clients on the My1040Data Toolkit toolbar.
  3.  To apply the Pro Forma configuration to a client or list of clients, do one of the following:
    • Display all records. To display the entire list of Pro Forma returns created for your firm, accept All as the value for all filters, and click Get List.
    • Filter records. To restrict the list to Pro Forma returns associated with a particular office, business unit, return group, signer, or Organizer status, select a value from one or more filter lists, and click Get List.

    Note: The following returns are not included in the list:

    • Returns for clients you do not have functional rights to edit
    • Password protected returns
    • TEQ returns

    Returns with Pro Forma suppressed are included in the list but cannot be processed.

  4. Select one or more clients from the list and click Create Organizers. You can also click Select All to create Organizers for all clients in the list. Data from the selected returns will transfer to new Organizers.

The return last activity and history are updated with Transferred to My1040Data. The return status is updated with Created.
