Allows you to create return and firm-level descriptions for fields that allow multiple entries, for example, fields for interest items or dividend items. The descriptions are then available for selection from the repeater fields in other areas of the return. |
Enable AutoComplete when entering AutoText descriptions |
When you type an AutoText description, the system will complete (AutoComplete) AutoText entries with the list item that first matches the characters entered. |
Create K-1 export files each time return is calculated |
Creates K-1 export files automatically each time a business return is calculated when exporting K-1 information from one return to another. If you do not select this box, you can also use the Export command in the Export group on the Import / Export tab after a return has been calculated, or set the option, Create Schedule K-1 export files during calculation, in the Return Options > Export Options worksheet for Fiduciary, S Corporation, and Partnership returns.

Display calc complete confirmation message after each calculation |
Displays a notification message after returns are calculated. Selecting this option requires you to click Close to close the message after each calculation. |
Display calculated data and data from other sources in blue |
Displays calculated data or data entered from other sources, such as from a roll forward, an import, or an autoflow in blue font. Override amounts remain in pink font and estimate amounts remain in orange font after calculation. |
Show the Forms List to display worksheets when opening returns |
Enable the Forms List option to display worksheet and government form titles in a list view when opening returns. When this option is cleared, worksheets and government form titles display in a tree view on the navigation panel when opening returns.
Note: This option does not enable or disable the Forms List button on the ribbon. It simply determines how worksheets display when opening returns.

Number of recently accessed returns to display |
Sets the number of most recently accessed returns to appear on the Application menu. You can click any return ID on the Application menu to open a return. |
Electronic filing upload notification

Select the preferred method for receiving desktop notifications |
Sets the option to receive the upload status of electronically filed returns in desktop notifications. Notifications include returns that have been uploaded in the last 72 hours.
Select from the following options:
- Every time a return is uploaded. Displays all statuses (Upload is in progress, Upload successful, Exception occurred, and Upload successful/Warning).
- Only when an exception has occurred. Displays the Exception occurred and Upload successful/Warning statuses.
- None
Desktop notifications advise the status of return upload to the Electronic Filing Status System. The notification includes a link for more detail. Or you can review the upload status report by clicking Upload Report on the Utilities ribbon tab in Return Manager.
You can also check status after returns are transmitted to taxing authorities in the Electronic Filing Status System or in the federal and state e-file status columns in the Return Manager grid.
