Working in Return Manager

The Return Manager window displays all existing tax returns or tax templates for the view or filters that are selected on the navigation panel. Return Manager features allow you to create, review, and perform a wide range of tasks for new and existing tax returns for all installed tax years and return types.

The main components of the window are the Application menu, the Quick Search, Menu Bar, Toolbar, the Return Manager grid, Views, and the commands used to update the grid, which are located on the .

Return Manager Commands

Most of the features used in Return Manager are accessed from commands found on the Application Menu.

Click the Application button,, in the upper-left corner of the window to display the Application menu and view the available options. The menu contains a link to open the User Options window from the bottom. You can adjust the number of returns listed on the menu using the Application menu > User Options > Tax > Miscellaneous window.

Return Manager Grid

The grid lists returns or templates, displaying all existing items for the selected view, client Search results, or Quick Search results. After selecting to display a view or search, records you have permission to view or access load in the grid.

Note: Returns associated with secured clients (clients that a client access group restricts you to view) do not display.

The system default is to display the most recently used returns or templates. You have the option of changing the default to display the last view used or a custom saved view. You can also modify the default number of 10 tax returns or templates that display in the Most Recently Used view. Select User Options from the Application menu in Return Manager, and then select Tax > Return Manager on the navigation panel to change the default options.

For Quick Search results and all views except the Most Recently Used view, when the number of records exceeds a single page, you can move between pages of records using paging controls.

Changes you make to the column selection, sort order, column order, and column width are retained when selecting Update View.
