Roll forward rules specify the options to use when a project created from this template is rolled forward. Setting these rules can make it easier for staff members to roll forward projects without having to worry about making mistakes. You can define roll forward rules in templates for recurring projects of any frequency. If a project frequency is set to one-time only, the option to set roll forward rules is not available.
Click the blue text to display the Set Parameter window, where you can select a different value for the parameter.

Indicates a field has new information from the project type, which can be a different lock status, parameter value, or answer on the General Information window.
Use custom fields is answered No for the project type and Yes for the template. You set up the custom fields roll forward rules for the template. If you change the project type custom fields answer to Yes, and then lock the answer, the template roll forward rules for custom fields will show the New icon with parameter settings inherited from the type. However, if you change the project type answer to Yes but do not lock the answer, the parameter settings for the template will not be affected.
You can hover your mouse over the New icon to show the project type name the change came from.
