Portal Folder Templates Overview

Folder templates are pre-defined folder structures that are created in a portal to help with organizing files. Portal provides a default folder template; you can also create custom folder templates, if needed.

To work with the folder templates set up for your firm, do the following: 

  1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Settings and defaults under Firm.
  2. Click Portal > Folder Template on the navigation panel.
  3. Do any of the following: 
    • Create a new template. Click New in the button bar to create a new template. For more information, see Creating Portal Folder Templates.
    • Edit an existing template. Select a template in the grid, and then click Edit on the button bar to modify its properties. For more information, see Editing Portal Folder Templates
    • Delete a template. Select a folder template in the grid, and then click Delete on the button bar to remove it.
    • Copy a template. Select a folder template in the grid, and then click Copy Template on the button bar to open a copy of the selected template to modify any of its properties.
    • Print the grid. Click Print on the button bar to display a window of options for printing the grid.
    • Search for a template. Click Find on the button bar to display a window where you can search for an item in the grid.
  4. Click OK.
