Adding Portals

You can add a portal for a specific client through that client's Client Profile window.

To add a new portal in the Client Profile window, do the following:

  1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Client Manager under Clients.
  2. Do one of the following:
  3. Select Portal on the navigation panel.
  4. Select Enable portal to set up a new portal.
  5. Enter Closedinformation about the new portal in the Portal management section as needed.
  6. In the Portal firm user access list section, Closedselect at least one firm user who should have access to the portal.
    1. Click Select users in the Portal firm user access list section to open the Select Users window.
    2. Do any of the following as needed:
      • Assign individual firm users to the portal. Select a name in the Available users box, and then click Add.

        Note: If needed, you can search for a specific user by typing the name of the user in the search box. As you type, the auto-suggest feature will list possible matches. You can then select the user, and then click Add to move the user to the Assigned users section.

      • Assign all firm users to the portal. Click Add all.
      • Unassign individual firm users to the portal. Select a user name in the Assigned users section, and click Delete.
      • Unassign all firm users from the portal. Click Delete all.
    3. Click OK.

    Note: You can remove a firm user from the Portal firm user access list by selecting the user's name in the list, and then clicking Delete user.

  7. Select the Approver check box for at least one firm user, if one is not already selected. The approver is a firm user who is responsible for approving files uploaded by clients to the portal.
  8. To select a different folder templateClosed A predefined folder structure that you can use to organize files for an entity. for the portal, click the expand button for the Portal folder templates section, and then select the Subscribe check box next to the folder template to be used for the portal. Only one folder template can be selected for each portal.
  9. Click the expand button for the Portal folder preview section if you want to Closedcreate or edit the custom folders set up for the client.
  10. Click one of the ClosedSave buttons or Cancel.
