Scheduling Server Maintenance (Server)

You can schedule maintenance or edit, un-schedule, or delete a scheduled database maintenance period.

ClosedScheduling Maintenance

To schedule maintenance, do the following:

  1. Click Update on the navigation panel.
  2. Click Maintenance.
  3. Click New. The New/Edit Scheduled Maintenance window displays.
  4. Select a time zone.
  5. Select an alert begin date.
  6. Select an alert begin time. Starting at this time on the specified date, all users who log in will receive a standard message notifying them of the upcoming maintenance period.
  7. Select the maintenance begin date.
  8. Select the maintenance begin time. After this time on the specified maintenance begin date, you will have 30 minutes to start the update. If you do not start the update within 30 minutes of the maintenance begin time, the maintenance period is canceled.
  9. Enter the notification message that users will receive while the updates are being applied.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Within 30 minutes after the selected begin time, go to the Applying Product Updates (Server) window and begin the maintenance update.

Note: Only one maintenance period can be scheduled at a time.

ClosedEditing a Scheduled Maintenance Period

To edit a scheduled maintenance period, do the following:

  1. Click Update on the navigation panel.
  2. Click Maintenance.
  3. Click Edit. The New/Edit Scheduled Maintenance window displays.
  4. Edit any of the following:
    • Change the time zone.
    • Edit the alert begin date. This is the date on which the alert period will begin.
    • Edit the alert begin time. Starting at this time on the specified date, all users who log in will receive a standard message notifying them of the upcoming maintenance period.
    • Edit the maintenance begin date. This is the time when the scheduled maintenance period will begin.
    • Edit the maintenance begin time. After this time, you will have 30 minutes to start the update. If you do not start the update within 30 minutes of the maintenance begin time, the maintenance period is canceled.
    • Edit the notification message that users will receive while the updates are being applied.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Within 30 minutes after the selected begin time, go to the Applying Product Updates (Server) window and begin the maintenance update.

ClosedUn-scheduling Maintenance

To un-schedule a scheduled maintenance period, do the following:

  1. Click Update on the navigation panel.
  2. Click Maintenance.
  3. Select the scheduled maintenance entry in the grid.
  4. Click Un-schedule. The maintenance period remains visible, but the scheduled times are blank. The alert will not be sent and the maintenance period will not begin.

ClosedDeleting a Scheduled Maintenance Period

To delete a scheduled maintenance period, do the following:

  1. Click Update on the navigation panel.
  2. Click Maintenance.
  3. Select the scheduled maintenance entry in the grid.
  4. Click Delete. The entry for the maintenance period is removed from the grid.
