Using Roles to Assign Rights to Staff

Roles are a method of assigning rights and functional access to staff when they are performing specific tasks, for example, manager, lead, supervisor. When staff are assigned to the role, they have the rights associated with the role in addition to their rights from security groups. If a staff changes positions in the company, you only need to update their role assignment in their staff profile and their corresponding rights will be updated.

Tip: To permanently assign rights to staff, security groups should be used.

You are not required to specify rights for a role.

To save setup time, you can create a role by copying an existing role. This saves significant time when only minor modifications are needed.
