Assigning Access to Staff Access Groups

You can indicate which staff you want to have access to staff included in staff access groups. Only those staff assigned to the access group will be able to work with the staff included in the access group.

There are two sections on this window:

  • Staff access group assignment criteria grid. Displays your firm's staff access groups and whether the selected staff is assigned to those groups. If specified criteria are used to define staff with access in a group, and the staff meets that criteria, you will see a check in the Meets Attributes column.
  • Assigned staff access groups grid. Displays the staff access groups where this staffhas access. The basis of assignment displays how the staff was assigned to the staff access group, either by their staff attributes or by specific selection.
    • Staff attributes. If a staff has been assigned by attributes, then information from their staff profile matches the requirements of the staff access group.
    • Specific selection. If you select to include or exclude the staff from the staff access group on this window (or in the Staff Access Group window), then the assignment is by specific selection. This means that the staff will always have access to the staffincluded in the access group, even if their staff profile changes.

Note: Changes to the staff profile Assignments > Staff Access window are also shown in the staff access group profile on the Staff with access window.

To manage staff assignments to staff access groups, do the following:

  1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Staff Manager under Staff.
  2. Do one of the following to open the staff profile: 
  3. If you are creating a new staff, click Save to display the Assignments options on the navigation panel.
  4. Click Assignments >Staff Access on the navigation panel.
  5. Select the staff access groups to which the staff should be assigned. All assigned staff access groups display in the bottom grid. You can do the following.
    • Select to include staff access to or exclude staff access from individual staff access groups.
    • Select the check boxes in the column headers to include staff access to or exclude staff access from all access groups.
    • Note: If you select to include or exclude a staff access group, click Refresh to update the Assigned staff access groups grid.

  6. Select from the additional window features. ClosedExplain the components of the window.
  7. Do one of the following to save your changes:
  8. Button Description
    Save Saves the changes and the window stays open for editing.
    Save & New

    Saves the changes and opens a new window to create a staff.

    Note: This option is not available if editing a staff.

    Save & Close Saves the changes and exits the window.
    Cancel Exits the window without saving your changes.
