Managing Client Responsible Staff

You can set up descriptions of job functions that maintain different facets of client management. For example, your firm's client responsible staff may include primary partner, tax preparer, or bill manager. Responsible staff can then be used as any of the following:

  • Assignment to one or more defined responsible staff names (descriptions) on the client profile Administrative window.
  • Selection criteria to secure clients in a client access group.
  • Filter to search for clients in Client Manager.
  • My Clients view results in Client Manager.
  • Assignment to one or more roles in a project template.
  • Position to act as bill manager in Practice.
  • Selection criteria to receive Practice Billing notifications.
  • Filter clients in the Dashboard iQ Events pane and Affected Clients list.

Note: This is a simple list that requires the entry of only a name-like unique identifier; no additional windows need to be set up.

To manage this list item, do the following:

  1. Open Dashboard, click Application Links on the navigation panel, and then click Lists under Firm.
  2. Click Client Lists > Client Responsible Staff on the navigation panel. The grid displays the default and custom client responsible staff descriptions. The grid also shows the descriptions that are designated prospect ownerClosed A person in the firm responsible for developing the relationship with a potential client and acquiring their new business or expanded business., referring staffClosed A person in the firm who introduced the opportunity for new business or expanded business that is represented by a prospect., and iQ staffClosed The staff or staff members who are responsible for reviewing CCH Axcess iQ news events and following up with clients who may be affected by tax regulation changes..
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Add a record. Click New on the button bar.
    • Edit a record. Select a row in the grid and click Open on the button bar, or right-click a row and select Open from the menu.
    • Reorder records on the grid. Right-click a cell in the grid and select either Move > Up or Move > Down from the menu.
    • Print the grid. Click Print on the button bar, or right-click the grid and select Print from the menu to print the entire grid.
