Setting Up Billing for Your Firm

You can configure the following billing options for your firm:

  • Billing Options. Billing options include the ability to set billing defaults and error/warning message conditions, as well as create and manage billing notifications.
  • Service Codes. Service codes are classifications used to specify the rate and amount to charge for time and expense transactions. You can create and edit classifications of default and user-defined service codes.
  • Bill Rates. You can configure bill rate names and descriptions to be used in Time & Billing and Workstream.
  • Tax Rates Grid. You can set up tax rates to associate with clients and service codes. The tax rates can be set up to have effective dates and be applied to specific types of entries, for example, WIP and expense amounts only.
  • Accounts Receivable Options. Accounts receivable options include editing your firm's default accounts receivable preferences, as well as setting up reasons, notifications, and finance charges.
  • Invoices. You can configure your firm's invoice settings, including beginning invoice numbers, custom fields, and standard paragraphs.
