Accessing Tax Research

Tax research tools provide access to the following web products:

  • IntelliConnect. Links to the Master Tax Guide content included in the library. Access IntelliConnect from the Help tab in Return Manager or from the U.S. Master Tax Guide link on the Help ribbon inside a return. If accessed from inside a return while working with a government form, form or field information specific to the active government form or field displays. If accessed from Return Manager or from a worksheet, the IntelliConnect Home page displays.
  • State Smart Charts. Links to state regulations and supporting laws in State Smart Charts that are relevant to the active state field or state form. State Smart Charts can be accessed from the Help tab while working in a state form.
  • CCH Tax Prep Partner Series™. Links to step-by-step information for the preparation of federal tax forms. CCH Tax Prep Partner Series can be accessed from the Help tab while working in government forms.
  • IntelliForms. Links to over 20,000 forms and instructions, including sales and use tax forms, as well as expanded sets of nonprofit forms and financial and estate planning forms.

Notes:

  • Your firm must first enable the option to use IntelliConnect on the Setup defaults tab in Firm settings and defaults.
  • The system uses your email address to automatically log you in to the research products. Your email address must match the email address entered in your staff profile. If you change your email address at a later time, you must update your staff profile as well as your IntelliConnect profile.
